The aim of the article is mapping the positioning of the different drifts of contemporary theories and praxis that, for various reasons, advocate the urban deregulation «Non-Plan». This broad spectrum of currents ranges from the most anarchic and/or participatory positions (the free city) to the more speculative neo-liberal traditions that currently fragment the city as commodities (the urban implosion). The formulated scheme picks up the witness of the last edition of Peter Hall’s urban antho- logy: «Cities of tomorrow» (2014). This work is part of the work methodology of the author’s PhD thesis.
