Resumen de El guía de turismo geológico: una profesión cuesta arriba.

A pesar de que existen iniciativas con más de diez años de andadura, la profesión de guía de turismo geológico está aún en una fase emergente debido al enmarañado contexto legal y administrativo en el que se enmarca. Este artículo describe dicho contexto legal, así como las dificultades derivadas del mismo, que una empresa de turismo geológico tiene que afrontar para poder realizar servicios de geoturismo en España. Para ello se expone el caso de estudio de GEOLAG-Turismo Geológico, como ejemplo de análisis. En concreto, el artículo describe los trámites necesarios para el inicio y ejecución de la actividad de geoturismo. Se omiten aspectos tan arduos como el plan de negocio o las obligaciones ante la Seguridad Social y Hacienda. Basada en la experiencia personal de la autora, se describirán con más detalle los trámites a seguir en el Principado de Asturias, como ejemplo y con referencia a los equivalentes en otras comunidades autónomas.

Despite the fact that there are initiatives with more than ten years of experience, the profession of geotourism guide is still in an emerging phase due to the tangled legal and administrative context in which it is framed. This article describes the administrative and legal context, as well as the difficulties derived from it, that a geological tourism company has to face in order to carry out geotourism services in Spain. For this, the case study of GEOLAG-GeologicalTourism is exposed, as an example of analysis. Specifically, the article describes the necessary procedures for the initiation and execution of the geotourism activity. As arduous aspects as the business plan or the obligations beforethe Social Security and Treasury are omitted. Based on the author’s personal experience, the procedures to be followed in the Principality of Asturias will be described in more detail, as an example and with reference to the equiv-alents in other autonomous communities
