Resumen de Politraumatismo versus osteogénesis imperfecta

  Este trabajo se centra en el estudio pluridisciplinar de un esqueleto aparecido en la excavación arqueológica de Erill Castell en la localidad de Pont de Suert. En esta intervención se documentaron tres tumbas datadas en época alto medieval. Con el estudio antropológico de los restos se pudo observar que el individuo procedente de la tumba 2 presentaba un total de un total de seis fracturas óseas consolidadas a nivel postcraneal (radio izquierdo, fémur derecho, peroné izquierdo, tibia izquierda, metacarpiano izquierdo y costilla izquierda). El diagnóstico diferencial incluyó la forma minor de Osteogénesis Imperfecta (OI) - dado el importante número de fracturas y la edad del sujeto-, y el politraumatismo. A nivel histórico el hecho de que el individuo sobrevivió a estos traumas sugiere una fuerte capacidad social del grupo para asumir y asistir a este individuo.

  This work focuses on the multidisciplinary study of a skeleton appeared in the archaeological site of Erill Castell in the town of Pont de Suert. Three tombs dating from the high medieval age were documented in this excavation. After digging up in the field, some anomalies in skeleton number 2 were documented, six consolidated postcranium traumas (left radius, right femur, left fibula, left tibia, left metacarpal and left rib). The differential diagnosis based on consolidated traumas and on the age of the skeleton is centered between the minor form of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) and a multiple trauma. In relation to social issues of this group, the fact that the person survived all these traumas is a clear evidence of the care that the group had towards its ill and injuried members.
