  En el siglo XIII comenzaron a surgir en todo Occidente imágenes de orantes que asistían a la narración divina. Producto de la consolidación de la vía afectivo de la imagen, estas representaciones tenían como fin último la salvación del alma del representado. Sin embargo, el surgimiento de este tipo de imágenes fuera de los espacios íntimos –capilla y el oratorio– inducirán a plantear las consideraciones públicas propias de las mismas. El objetivo del presente artículo versará en el estudio de las implicaciones socio-políticas propias de las representaciones orantes de Isabel I de Castilla y Juana I de Castilla.

  the thirteenth century, images of praying persons assis-ting the divine narration began to appear throughout the West. Product of the consolidation of the affective via of the image, these representa-tions had as their ultimate goal the salvation of the soul of the represen-ted. However, the emergence of this type of images outside the intimate spaces - chapel and oratory - will induce to raise the public considera-tions proper to them. The objective of this article will be to study the sociopolitical implications of the praying representations of Isabel I of Castile and Juana I of Castile.
