Resumen de Exhumación de una fosa común de guerrilleros de la A.G.L.A en Villarejo de la Peñuela (Cuenca)

  Entre el 28 de abril y el 5 de mayo de 2007, se efectuó la exhumación de una fosa común de guerrilleros de la A.G.L.A (Agrupación Guerrillera de Levante y Aragón) en Villarejo de la Peñuela (Cuenca). Los hechos investigados corresponden al asesinato de los cuatro guerrilleros fallecidos el 16 de octubre de 1948 por las fuerzas de la Guardia Civil en un lugar conocido como Cerro de la Cabeza en el término municipal de Villarejo de la Peñuela, donde se asentaba un campamento. Los hechos están documentados en la Memoria Histórica Anual de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Cuenca correspondientes al día 16 de octubre de 1948. No obstante, en ningún momento de la documentación analizada se hace referencia a la inhumación de los cuerpos. La recogida de testimonios ha permitido a lo largo de los últimos años situar la fosa en el interior del cementerio municipal de Villarejo de la Peñuela. El estudio antropológico forense permitió documentar que la fosa contenía restos humanos correspondientes a cuatro esqueletos, y que se han identificado genéticamente con los familiares vivos confirmando la identidad de tres de los cuatro guerrilleros. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que los cuatro cadáveres presentan un cuadro común de politraumatismos en miembros superiores e inferiores (fracturas perimortem) de gran entidad cinética, así como traumatismos craneales severos e incompatibles con la vida y cuyo mecanismo de producción fueron lesiones por arma de fuego y aplastamiento por piedras de gran peso. Esta investigación ha permitido definir la verdadera realidad de este enfrentamiento históricamente documentado.

  In the period between April 28 and May 5, 2007, the exhumation of a common grave of guerrillas belonging to the A.G.L.A (Agrupación Guerrillera de Levante y Aragón) took place in Villarejo de la Peñuela (Cuenca). The events investigated correspond to the murder of four guerrillas on October 16, 1948 by troops of the Guardia Civil at Cerro de la Cabeza in the municipal district of Villarejo de la Peñuela, where they had set up camp. The events are documented in the Memoria Histórica Anual de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Cuenca and correspond to October 16, 1948. However there is no mention at all in the documentation of the inhumation of the bodies. The gathering up of testimonies over recent years has enabled the common grave to be located inside the municipal cemetery of Villarejo de la Peñuela. The forensic anthropological study enables us to document that the grave contained human remains corresponding to four skeletons with which there has been genetic identification with living family members/relatives, thereby confirming the identity of three of the four guerrillas. The results reveal that the four cadavers presented a common clinical manifestation of polytraumatism in the upper and lower limbs, (perimortem fractures) caused with great kinetic energy, as well as severe cranial traumatisms incompatible with life; the source of these injuries were produced by firearms and crushing under heavy boulders. This study has enabled the true circumstances of this historically documented clash to be revealed.
