    El estudio de las fundaciones femeninas de la Orden de Predicadores en Toledo ha sido poco analizado, con algunas excepciones. Comienza en el siglo XIV con el monasterio de Santo Domingo el Real, progresa a lo largo de los procesos de reformas del siglo XV, con el monasterio de Madre de Dios. Y continua con dos fundaciones posteriores en el siglo XVI, un beaterio Espíritu Santo y en el siglo XVII, el monasterio de Jesús y María. Un interesante proceso de implantación mendicante femenina a lo largo de cuatro siglos que tuvieron en dos casos un germen de beaterio.

    The study of female convent foundations of Order of Preachers in Toledo has been little analysed, with some exceptions. It begins in the fourteenth century with monastery of Santo Domingo the Real, progresses through the reform processes of the fifteenth century with the monastery of Madre de Dios and continues with two subsequent foundations: the beguinage of the Holy Spirit in the sixteenth century and the monastery of Jesus and Mary in the 17th century. An interesting process of mendicant female implantation over four centuries that, in two cases, originated in a beguinage.
