    El presente trabajo analiza las negociaciones que se están llevando a cabo durante el Brexit entre el Reino Unido y la Unión Europea con relación a los servicios financieros, más concretamente el asset management. Este es un tema de discusión que es clave para ambas partes ya que, por un lado, Reino Unido ostenta una posición de liderazgo en esta industria a nivel mundial, así como por otro, la UE está interesada en controlar y potencializar las firmas que prestan servicios financieros en Europa. Al estudiar los modelos de negociación de acuerdos bilaterales que alcanzaron otros países con la UE, se pueden observar las diferentes maneras de cómo se regularon los servicios financieros en otras ocasiones. Debido al tedioso proceso de negociación del Brexit y la relevancia del asset management, se requiere de cooperación de ambas partes para lograr un escenario favorable para incentivar estas economías.

    This paper analyzes the negotiations that are taking place during Brexit, between the United Kingdom and the European Union around the topic of financial services, and more precisely: asset management. This is an important topic of discussion for both parties, because on one side, the United Kingdom holds a leadership position in this industry worldwide, as well as the EU’s interest in controlling and empowering the firms that provide financial services in Europe. By studying the different models of negotiation of bilateral agreements that other countries reached with the EU, it is possible to observe the different ways in which financial services were regulated in other occasions. Given the tedious Brexit negotiation process and the relevance of the asset management, the cooperation of both parties is required to achieve a favorable scenario to encourage these economies.
