    Este artículo explora la cuestión de las ideas estéticas que los físicos emplean en el proceso de búsqueda de las leyes de la naturaleza. Se identifica el concepto de simetría como el más importante en la estética de los físicos, y se subraya su potencia, pero también sus limitaciones. Se sugiere finalmente que sólo a través del diálogo de las ciencias con las humanidades pueden llegar a refinarse las ideas estéticas de los físicos.

    This article explores the aesthetic ideas that physicists use in the process of searching for the laws of nature. The concept of symmetry is identified as the most important in the aesthetics of physicists, and its power is stressed, but also its limitations. It is finally suggested that only through the dialogue of the sciences with the humanities can the aesthetic ideas of physicists be refined.
