Resumen de Hospital y Cofradía de la Purísima Concepción de Villanueva del Arzobispo. (Apuntes históricos),

  Con este artículo damos a conocer algunos datos históricos relacionados con el hospital y cofradía de la Purísima Concepción de Villanueva del Arzobispo. Una cofradía muy antigua establecida en el pueblo y que hundía sus raíces en la Edad Media. Sus estatutos serían aprobados en 1419 por el obispo de Jaén don Rodrigo de Narváez. Esta cofradía estuvo asociada al hospital del mismo nombre, sirviéndolo sus cofrades, con carácter asistencial, durante un largo periodo de tiempo, casi cinco siglos, hasta su desaparición definitiva, que se produjo, casi con toda seguridad, a finales del siglo XIX.

  With this article we present some historical data related to the hospital and brotherhood of the Purísima Concepción de Villanueva del Arzobispo. A very old brotherhood established in the town and that had its roots in the Middle Ages. Its statutes would be approved in 1419 by the Bishop of Jaén don Rodrigo de Narváez. This brotherhood was associated with the hospital of the same name, serving its brothers, on a care basis, for a long period of time, almost five centuries, until its final disappearance which occurred at the end of the 19th century
