    El informe emitido hace poco más de un mes por el Comité Europeo para la prevención de la tortura, y tratos o penas inhumanas o degradantes (CPT) , supone la mejor excusa para abordar si las garantías jurídicas no quedan a veces ensombrecidas por la aplicación práctica que se hace de las mismas. El repaso de algunas de las resoluciones del Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos (TEDH) a la luz de dicho informe nos da una idea de la situación.

    The recent report of the European Committee for the prevention of torture and other mistreatments (CPT), is a good excuse to study if the legal guarantees do not have real effects on inmates or detainees because of their practical application. The review of some of the sentences of the European Court for Human Rights (ECHR) in the context of the refered report, can give us a good idea of the situation.
