    En este artículo es tema de investigación la Plant de la Verge de Ramon Llull, poeta mallorquino que vivió entre los siglos XIII y XIV. A través de la relectura y examen de los pasajes más significativos, intentaremos describir la estructura de la composición, captando el arte compositivo y las elecciones retórico-estilísticas. En particular, nos centraremos en los aspectos líricos y dramáticos, intentando insertar la obra en el género literario de Planctus Mariae. Otro aspecto al que se prestará atención es la figura de la Virgen. María, lejos de la imperturbabilidad de los cuentos neotestamentarios, adquiere en la composición un nuevo calibre moral y escatológico: ya no reina y abogada, sino mater dolorosa. La compasión alimentada por el Hijo sufriente permite al poeta detenerse en los aspectos más íntimos y vibrantes, casi teatrales, del dolor materno.

    Examined here is tha Plant de la Verge by Ramon Llull, the Majorcan poet whose life straddled the thirteenth and the fourteenth centuries. By re-reading the more significant passages, it will be sought to describe the structure of the composition, to understand the art of composing this work and the rhetorical-stylistic choices made. Particular attention will be paid to the lyrical and dramatic aspects, seeking to place this work in the literary genre of the Planctus Mariae. Another aspect, to which attention will be paid, is the figure of the Virgin. Mary, far from the imperturbability ascribed to her by the New Testament accounts, acquires in this composition a new moral and eschatological quality: here, rather than regina and advocata, she is mater dolorosa. Her profound compassio for her suffering Son permits the poet to dwell on the most intimate aspects of a mother's pain, and on those so striking as if theatrically represented.
