Resumen de Programa iconográfico de las puertas del Colegio de jesuitas de Calatayud

El artículo trata de poner en valor las puertas de la biblioteca del edificio de la UNED de Calatayud por su calidad técnica y por ser uno de los pocos elementos originales del siglo XVIII que se conservan del antiguo colegio de Jesuitas.
Su escenografía es típicamente jesuítica y se compone de seis paneles en los que se representa, en la parte superior, a “San Ignacio de Loyola en la cueva de Manresa” y al padre “Francisco Suárez como eximius doctor”. La parte central la ocupan dos “Monogramas de la Compañía de Jesús” y completan el conjunto sendos paneles con “Motivos vegetales sin alusiones figurativas”.

The article tries to value the doors of the library of the UNED building in Calatayud for their technical quality and for being one of the few original elements from the 18th century that are preserved from the old Jesuit college. Its scenography is typically Jesuit and is made up of six panels that represent, in the upper part, “San Ignacio de Loyola in the Manresa cave” and the father “Francisco Suárez as eximius doctor”. The central part is occupied by two “Monograms of the Society of Jesus” and the set is completed by two panels with “Plant motifs without figurative allusions”.
