This work arises from the need to provide a suitable methodology for the study of Upper Aragon place names, attempting, through other channels, to shed light on certain aspects hitherto un- clarified. All of the steps are aimed at ordering the toponymic strata that have succeeded each other and co-existed over time in the geographical area commonly known as Upper Aragon. The primary objective is to create an interpretative framework which includes the linguistic and historiographical updates that have occurred in the past few years, in the field of what is commonly known as pre-Roman toponymy.
