    La tutela y la curatela han sido las principales figuras jurídicas encargadas de proteger a las personas que no tenían plena capacidad para gobernarse a sí mismas. Con una ya extensa regulación desde sus orígenes romanos, han ido evolucionando junto con las circunstancias sociales y los distintos Ordenamientos Jurídicos, llegando a estar obsoletas en ciertos momentos históricos. La sociedad actual, no obstante, las ha devuelto la importancia que en su día ostentaron. El Ordenamiento Jurídico español presenta una novedosa regulación que recuerda a sus inicios.

    Tutelage and curatorship have always been the main legal instruments meant to protect the people who weren’t able of reigning themselves fully and well. With an extensive original regulation in Roman times, they have evolved alongside social circumstances and different legal systems, even having been obsolete at certain points in time. However, today’s society has returned the relevance these institutions once had. The Spanish legislation presents a new regulation that sips from its origins.
