    La disciplina de la balística forense o más explícitamente el área de expertos en armas de fuego y marcas de herramientas, ha evolucionado de manera constante, esto ha traído consigo cambios significativos en las formas en que se analizan y se emiten los reportes de los expertos, es por demás decir que estos avances traen consigo consecuencias significativas respecto al actuar del experto, por esto es necesario desarrollar una explicación sencilla respecto a la técnica cuantitativa de la teoría de estrías consecutivas coincidentes o concordantes (CMS), esto es necesario ya que no existen muchas explicaciones específicas de esta teoría en habla hispana. Este artículo explica la raíz de esta teoría, su alcance y una explicación breve de la forma que se desarrolla su proceso.

    The discipline of forensic ballistics or more explicitly the area of experts in firearms and tool brands, has evolved constantly, this has brought about significant changes in the ways how in which expert reports are analyzed and issued, It is needless to say that these advances bring significant consequences regarding the actions of the expert, for this it is necessary to develop a simple explanation regarding the quantitative technique of the theory of matching or concordant consecutive striations (CMS), this is necessary since there are no many specific explanations of this theory in Spanish. This article explains the roots of this theory, its scope, and a brief explanation of how its process unfolds
