Resumen de Concomitancias entre colecciones bibliográficas nobiliarias en los albores del s. xvi: libros, lectores y lecturas

¿Hasta qué punto podrían existir similitudes entre las colecciones bibliográficas de algunos nobles cas- tellanos de principios del s. xvi? ¿Habría en ellas algún parámetro común que pudiéramos identificar y analizar? Para dar una respuesta lo más aproximada posible a dichas cuestiones, en el presente trabajo hemos escogido a cinco nobles prácticamente coetáneos, cuyas biografías, a su vez, dejan entrever ciertas concomitancias, como la de compartir una característica común: un inventario post mortem de sus bienes, entre en el que se incluye su biblioteca. En suma, una relación de autores, libros y lecturas recurrentes entre ellos que, asimismo, contaba también con un nexo en común: las colecciones bibliográficas de los Mendoza, con quienes compartían no solo gustos, devoción literaria y exquisitez artística sino paralelismos biográfi- cos. ¿Podrían las bibliotecas del marqués de Santillana y sus descendientes haber sido el modelo a seguir por otros nobles a la hora abastecer sus anaqueles?

Could there be similarities between the bibliographic collections of some Castilian nobles of the early six- teenth century? Would there be any common parameters in them that we could identify and analyze? In order to give the closest possible answer to these questions, in this work we have chosen five practically contemporary nobles, whose biographies, in turn, reveal certain concomitances, such as sharing a common characteristic: a post-mortem inventory of their goods, enter which includes your library. In short, a list of authors, books and recurring readings between them that, likewise, also had a common link: the bibliogra- phic collections of the Mendoza family, with whom they shared not only tastes, literary devotion and artis- tic delicacy, but biographical parallels. Could the libraries of the Marquis of Santillana and his descendants have been the model to be followed by other nobles when supplying their shelves?
