  Se analiza el alcance del arbitraje comercial internacional en los contratos de seguro. El manuscrito es de tipo documental, y se configura con un nivel descriptivo, el método que se ha utilizado es el analítico. La justificación es práctica porque son múltiples operaciones comerciales que traspasan las fronteras día a día; también cuenta con una justificación teórica, ya que la investigación promueve y genera antecedentes en la materia; la justificación social, se sustenta en que las necesidades de la sociedad se colman a través del correcto suministro de bienes y servicios y, por el aporte metodológico que trae aparejada la generación de nuevos conocimientos. Como conclusión relevante se plantea, que cada uno de los agentes del comercio internacional deben velar por sus negocios y seleccionar pares comerciales respetuosos que cumplan de manera autónoma las obligaciones contraídas, aunque no deja de ser indispensable el respaldo de un contrato de seguro que puede ser reforzado con la incorporación de un arbitraje como mecanismo de resolución de conflictos a través de un tercero neutral.

  The general objective of the research is to analyze the scope of international commercial arbitration in in-surance contracts. The manuscript is of the documentary type, and it is configured with a descriptive level, the method that has been used is the analytical one. The justification is practical because there are multiple commercial operations that cross borders every day; It also has a theoretical justification, since the research promotes and generates antecedents in the matter; the social justification is since the needs of society are met through the correct supply of goods and services and, by the methodological contribution that comes with the generation of new knowledge. As a relevant conclusion, it is proposed that each of the international trade agents must watch over their business and select respectful business partners that autonomously fulfill the obligations contracted, although the support of an insurance contract that can be reinforced with the incorpo-ration of arbitration as a conflict resolution mechanism through a neutral third party.
