El presente trabajo trata de recoger la presencia de Teócrito en los escritores españoles entre 1701 y 1800 y, a partir de las menciones registradas, analizar sus características en lo que atañe a la persona del poeta griego, su relevancia en la tradición literaria grecolatina, el sentido de sus menciones en relación con el argumento contextual en el que figura citado, así como localizar el lugar preciso a que corresponden dentro de la obra de Teócrito los textos insertados a él atribuidos y su fidelidad respecto del original

The purpose of this paper is to collect the quotations of Theocrit in the Spanish writers between 1701 and 1800. We try to find the exact passage of the Theocritus’ poems to which the texts attributed to him belong and to determine their degree of accurateness in relation to the original text. We also analyze the characteristics of the mentions of the Greek poet, his relevance in the reception of the classical literature, and the sense of the quotations in relation to the argument of the paragraph where he is quoted.
