Resumen de Obras de rehabilitación y restauración en el Palacio de la Isla

  Siempre resulta interesante conocer como el tiempo altera la fisionomía y uso original de los edificios, pero cuando se conoce su historia, su evolución, sus actores principales y el trasfondo de su existencia, aún es más conmovedor. En este artículo se relata cuáles son los antecedentes de un palacio del siglo XVI, del “Palacio de la Isla de Cáceres”, hoy en día reconvertido en un edificio de uso múltiple en el que, además, se aloja el “Archivo Municipal”. Las obras de rehabilitación han sido ejecutadas tanto en el exterior del edificio como en el interior del mismo, para darle forma a su último destino; siendo, en la actualidad, un referente para los cacereños por sus dependencias y servicios, en los que sus cuatro plantas albergan salas de exposiciones, salón de actos, oficinas, espacios libres y, fundamentalmente, el archivo municipal.

  It is always interesting to know how time alters the original physiognomy and use of buildings, but when they know their history, their evolution, their main actors and the background of their existence, it is even more poignant. This article tells what the background of a palace the sixteenth century, the "Palace of the Island of Cáceres", today converted into a multipurpose building in which, in addition, the "Municipal Archive" is housed. Rehabilitation works have been carried out both outside and inside the building, to shape its last destination; it is currently a reference for Caceres for their outbuildings and services, in which its four floors house exhibition halls, function room, offices, free spaces and, fundamentally, the municipal archive.
