    Neste artigo ofereço uma interpretação mais frutífera do Problema de Frege como formulado na passagem de abertura de “Sobre o sentido e a referência”. Argumento que essa formulação é problemática sob vários aspectos, e que algumas das noções que Frege invoca para descrever o Problema são totalmente dispensáveis. Uma vez limpo o terreno, é mais provável que enxerguemos o que realmente está em questão. Também mostro como essa interpretação evita a objeção de Glezakos (2009) de que Frege não pode formular o Problema de maneira não-circular.

    In this paper I offer a more fruitful interpretation of Frege’s Puzzle as formulated in the opening paragraphs of ‘On Sense and Reference’. I argue that this formulation is misleading in several aspects, and that some of the notions Frege invokes to describe the Puzzle are completely dispensable. Once we clear the way, we are more likely to see what it is really about. I also show how this interpretation avoids Glezakos’ (2009) objection that Frege cannot pose the Puzzle non-circularly.
