This work is based in the International Year of the Periodic Table of the Chemical Elements proclaimed by the UN for 2019, on the 150 th anniversary of the Periodic Table (TP) by Mendeléiev. The antecedents of the Mendeléiev TP are briefly analysed: Döbereiner triads and Newlands octaves, to focus the work on Mendeléiev Table, beginning with his professional and personal life. Principles of Chemistry is Mendeléiev most beloved work and it includes the periodic law. Investments in the placement of elements and holes for elements not yet discovered, are the two genius of Mendeléiev in the organization of his Table. The final part of this work is devoted to the current periodic table, including a brief tour of the different groups of elements. Finally, the work finish with the chemical elements discovered by Spaniards, the final elements synthesized (atomic number greater than 103) and the elements discovered by women.
