    La minería del Hierro ha tenido gran relevancia en la evolución de la humanidad, no solo por su importancia en el desarrollo de útiles y herramientas a través de la siderurgia, sino por la amplia distribución de los yacimientos de hierro a nivel mundial. En Asturias, donde la siderurgia tradicional tiene un peso importante en el occidente, se comienzan a descubrir yacimientos de Hierro en la zona central en el S. XIX, aunque de inicio con una escasa ley media. La cuenca central asturiana será el motor de la industrialización de la región en base a disponer de abundante carbón y hierro en un área geográfica pequeña, lo que hará que se asienten en ella diversas empresas siderúrgicas. En uno de estos emplazamientos se encuentra el museo etnográfico de Quirós, no teniendo en la actualidad ligazón alguna con las minas que proporcionaban las materias primas para el proceso siderúrgico. En este trabajo se pretende proponer una ruta a través del patrimonio minero de la zona de estudio, como complemento a la visita del Museo Etnográfico. Se podrán visitar diversas instalaciones vinculadas a la minería del hierro, en un entorno inmejorable, permitiendo entender el proceso de arranque, carga y trasporte desde las minas a la fábrica, y apreciar las dificultades que avocaron al cierre a la misma. Se busca así proteger y recuperar los bienes históricos industriales y mineros menos conocidos, pero de un gran valor para el entendimiento del desarrollo industrial de Asturias.

    ron mining has had great relevance in the evolution of humanity, not only because of its importance in the development of tools and tools through the steel industry, but also because of the wide distribution of iron ore deposits worldwide. In Asturias, where the traditional iron and steel industry plays a significant role in the West, iron deposits are being discovered in the central area in the 19th century, although initially with a low average grade. The Asturian central basin will be the engine of the industrialization of the region based on having abundant coal and iron in a small geographic area, which will make it settle in it several steel companies. In the old ironworks is the ethnographic museum of Quirós, currently having no link with the mines that provided the raw materials for the steelmaking process. In this work we intend to propose a route through the mining heritage of the study area, as a complement to the visit of the Ethnographic Museum. Various facilities linked to iron mining can be visited in an unbeatable environment, allowing to understand the process of starting, loading and transport from the mines to the factory, and to appreciate the difficulties that caused the closure to the same. The aim is to protect and recover the lesser known industrial and mining historical assets, but of great value for understanding the industrial development of Asturias.
