    Luisa Isabel Álvarez de Toledo y Maura, XXI duquesa de Medina Sidonia, La Duquesa Roja, como la llamaban, fue una gran mujer, avanzada a los tiempos, por encima de su época, por delante de los de su género, los humanos, aunque algunos no tanto. Fue la conservadora de un inmenso patrimonio cultural que puso al servicio de la investigación y veló por su conservación y mejora de todo el patrimonio, sin más pretensiones que ser útil y desempeñar bien el papel que le había tocado vivir, dejando un legado fabuloso para la posteridad. Crea la Fundación Casa de Medina Sidonia cuyos fines se resumen en dos puntos:

    1) Conservar el conjunto del Palacio de Medina Sidonia, con cuanto contiene en su interior y dependencias, por ser la causa; y 2) Contribuyendo a que la Humanidad avance hacia la verdad, hacia una sociedad capaz de reemplazar la moral por la ética.

    Luisa Isabel Álvarez de Toledo and Maura, XXI Duchess of Medina Sidonia, the Red Duchess, as they called her, was a great woman, advanced to the times, above her time, ahead of those of her gender, humans, although some not so much. She was the curator of an immense cultural heritage that she put at the service of research and ensured its conservation and improvement of all the heritage, with no other pretensions than to be useful and play well the role that she had had to live, leaving a fabulous legacy for the posterity. He created the Medina Sidonia Foundation, the purposes of which are summarized in two points: 1) Preserve the whole of the Medina Sidonia Palace, with what it contains inside and out, as the cause; and 2) Contributing to the advancement of humanity towards the truth, towards a society capable of replacing morality with ethics.
