Las interpretaciones planteadas acerca de la aventura de los galeotes, uno de los capítulos más importantes del primer Quijote, han sido numerosas y abordadas desde diversas y enriquecedoras perspectivas. No obstante, más allá del amplio repertorio de interpretaciones sobre esta aventura, el trabajo de muchos investigadores en las últimas décadas ha centrado su atención en el uso de la ironía por parte de Cervantes. Por esta razón, el presente artículo trata de determinar la manera en que el escritor aplica la ironía desde un punto de vista lingüístico, estructural y argumental, así como las consecuencias de estas aplicaciones en la narración de la aventura de los galeotes.

The interpretations raised about the adventure of the galley slaves, one of the most important chapters of the first Quixote, have been numerous and approached from diverse and enriching perspectives. However, beyond the wide repertoire of interpretations of this adventure, the work of many researchers in recent decades has focused their attention on the use of irony by Cervantes. For this reason, this article tries to determine the way in which this writer administer irony from a linguistic, structural and argumentative point of view, as well as the implications of that irony in the narration of the adventure of the galley slaves.
