El liberalismo como gubernamentalidad crítica: la influencia de Kant en la lectura de Foucault

    El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un análisis sobre la noción de «gubernamentalidad crítica» y su relación con el liberalismo en la obra de Michel Foucault a partir de intervenciones del filósofo en textos seleccionados particularmente del período 1978-1984 referidos a la filosofía de Immanuel Kant. Se dejará en evidencia la noción de «actitud crítica» desde la cual Foucault comprende a nuestro juicio una reacción a la pastoralización del poder. Nuestra hipótesis indagará en si dicha «actitud crítica» como atributo fundamental de la modernidad es un elemento indispensable en la racionalidad de gobierno liberal que surge a mediados del siglo XVIII. Exploraremos la filiación kantiana de esta premisa en el marco de un «arte de no ser gobernado de esa manera» que sustente la dinámica de autolimitación gubernamental.

    The objective of this article is to carry out an analysis of the notion of «critical governmentality» and its relationship with liberalism in the work of Michel Foucault based on the philosopher’s interventions in selected texts particularly from the period 1978-1984 referring to the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. The notion of «critical attitude» from which Foucault understands in our opinion a reaction to the pastoralization of power will be made clear. Our hypothesis will investigate whether this «critical attitude» as a fundamental attribute of modernity is an indispensable element in the rationality of liberal government that emerged in the mid-18th century. We will explore the kantian affiliation of this premise within the framework of an «art of not being governed in that way» that sustains the dynamics of governmental self-limitation.
