The paper by Laura Pinto and Levon Blue “Critical Making Takes a Holiday” examines how “making” functions in educational spaces, and in particular how the enthusiasm for adopting new methods and technologies in the classroom can overshadow or even silence critical thinking. Critical analysis of pedagogical practices is an important part of what this journal provides, and we want to temper our enthusiasm for what digital technologies offer with a reminder to not leave criticality behind.
