Este artículo hace un análisis del ideal femenino en una obra apologética de Jerónimo de Estridón, en la cual, el autor defiende la virginidad de María, la madre de Jesús de Nazaret. La propuesta jeronimiana busca posicionar al movimiento religioso en medio de los feroces ataques adversarios, exhortando a las mujeres a imitar la figura mariana, pues ella es el modelo que requiere el cristianismo y el cual deben seguir para agradar a la divinidad.

This paper makes an analysis of the feminine ideal in a apologetic work by Jerome of Stridon, in which the author defends the virginity of Mary, the mother of Jesus of Nazareth. The proposal of Jerome of Stridon seeks to position the religious movement in the midst of fierce adversary attacks, exhorting women to imitate the Marian figure, since she is the model that Christianity requires and which they must follow to please the divine.
