    Estas notas presentan una lectura del sociólogo Ángel de Lucas sobre la Introducción de Lévi-Strauss a la obra de Marcel Mauss Sociología y Antropología. Su objetivo, enmarcado en la labor docente del profesor de Lucas, no es solamente presentar el texto sino desarrollar teóricamente el concepto de “fenómeno social total”. Dicho desarrollo pasa por la discusión sobre las posibles articulaciones entre los niveles del individuo y de lo social, así como sus implicaciones en distintos campos: desde el cuerpo y la socialización, hasta la patología mental y el don. Se esbozan las consecuencias metodológicas y epistemológicas que tales reflexiones tienen sobre el análisis social que son también esbozadas.

    These notes present a reading made by the sociologist Ángel de Lucas on Lévi-Strauss's Introduction to the work of Marcel Mauss Sociology and Anthropology. His objective, framed in the teaching work of de Lucas, is not only the presentation of the text but also to theoretically develop the concept of “total social phenomenon”. This development goes through the discussion about the possible articulations between the levels of the individual and the social, as well as their implications in different fields: from the body and socialization, to mental pathology and the gift. Likewise, such reflections have methodological and epistemological consequences on social analysis that are also outlined.
