La esquizofrenia es un trastorno mental grave, muy presente en nuestra sociedad. Se caracteriza por una distorsión de la percepción de uno mismo y del entorno que, sumado a otros síntomas como la tendencia a la inactividad, crea una alteración global del sujeto que la padece, afectando a su salud mental y física.
El tratamiento de fisioterapia mediante la aplicación de un programa de ejercicio físico debe estar incluido dentro del tratamiento multidisciplinar, debido a sus beneficios a nivel físico y mental.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder, very present in our society. It is characterized by a distortion of the perception of oneself and the environment that, added to other symptoms such as the tendency to inactivity, creates a global alteration of the subject who suffers from it, affecting their mental and physical health.
Physiotherapy treatment through the application of a physical exercise program should be included within the multidisciplinary treatment, due to its benefits on a physical and mental level.
