Resumen de Actualización en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de los tumores cerebrales malignos

  Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica actualizada empleando los recursos disponibles en Infomed específicamente las bases de datos: MEDLINE, Academic Search Premier y MedicLatina, con el objetivo de sintetizar información actualizada sobre el diagnóstico y tratamiento quirúrgico, farmacológico y psicológico de los tumores cerebrales malignos. Del total de bibliografía consultada se tomaron 35 para citar en el trabajo, el 100% correspondió a los últimos 5 años. Se utilizaron métodos de investigación cualitativa. Se concluyó que en el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad el uso de los biomarcadores, alteraciones cromosómicas y cultivo celulares son importantes para un mejor pronóstico y el incremento de la sobrevida de los afectados. No existe un fármaco universal que permita la curación total de los pacientes afectados, las técnicas imagenológicas contribuyen a mantener la funcionabilidad del cerebro y las aristas del tratamiento están basadas en técnicas quirúrgicas, radio y quimioterapia, terapia farmacológica y rehabilitación neuropsicológica.

  An updated bibliographic review was carried out using the resources available in Infomed specifically the databases: MEDLINE, Academic Search Premier and MedicLatina, with the aim of synthesizing updated information on the diagnosis and surgical, pharmacological and psychological treatment of malignant brain tumors. Of the total bibliography consulted, 35 were taken to cite in the work, 100% corresponded to the last 5 years. Qualitative research methods were used. It was concluded that in the diagnosis of this disease the use of biomarkers, chromosomal alterations and cell culture are important for a better prognosis and increased survival of those affected. There is no universal drug that allows the total cure of affected patients, imaging techniques contribute to maintaining the functionality of the brain and the edges of treatment are based on surgical techniques, radio and chemotherapy, drug therapy and neuropsychological rehabilitation.
