    The Old-French tradition of the Vita Adae et Evae consists of four translations written between the 13th and the 15th century by Robert de Blois, Andrius, Jean d'Outremeuse and Colard Mansion, and of the anonymous version in the ms. Paris, Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal 2680. This paper provides the comparative analysis of the initial section of the Penitence Adam, in order to show the characteristics of each work and the possible influences between the different translations, highlighting the relationship with the Latin text.

    La tradizione antico-francese della Vita Adae et Evae comprende quattro volgarizzamenti composti tra il XIII e il XV secolo da Robert de Blois, Andrius, Jean d’Outremeuse e Colard Mansion e una redazione anonima conservata nel ms. Paris, Bibliothèque de l’Arsenal 2680. Il presente contributo propone l’analisi dell’episodio iniziale della Penitence Adam in prospettiva comparativa, per evidenziare le caratteristiche delle singole opere e le possibili contaminazioni fra le diverse traduzioni, mettendo in luce il rapporto di discendenza dalla recensione latina.
