Resumen de De lo marginal en el arte y su sentido moral: las bichas desplazadas en algunos retablos barrocos de Huesca

En el marco de la relación dialéctica y de oposición que suele existir entre el centro y los márgenes en las obras plásticas, este trabajo analiza el contenido moral de las bichas esculpidas en los retablos de San Lorenzo y San Bernardo, construidos para la iglesia de San Lorenzo de Huesca a mediados del siglo XVII. Los santos titulares de ambas obras encarnan el bien y se muestran ante sus devotos como los mediadores idóneos para obtener su salvación, mientras las bichas, desplazadas a los laterales y caracterizadas como sus contrarias, representan el mal, aunque por su atractivo, a veces, pueda parecer lo contrario.

This paper analyzes the moral content of the bichas sculpted in the altarpieces of Saint Lawrence and Saint Bernard, built for the church of Saint Lawrence of Huesca in the middle of the 17th century, within the framework of the dialectical and oppositional relationship that usually exists between the center and the margins in works of art. The titular saints of both pieces embody the good and appear before their devotees as the suitable mediators to obtain their salvation, while the bichas, displaced to the sides and characterized as their opposites, represent the evil, although due to their attractiveness, sometimes, it may seem otherwise.
