    En este artículo analizamos los relatos de Luisa Carnés, quien parte al exilio como consecuencia de la Guerra Civil. La separación de su hogar da como resultado la representación de una serie de temas en su narrativa breve escrita desde México que suponen, por una parte, la continuación de aquellos iniciados en España desde una perspectiva distinta y, por otra parte, la aceptación de los temas prototípicos de la cultura de acogida. Así, el exilio marca la identidad de la escritora, que se ve escindida entre el recuerdo de su hogar y la adaptación al país que la acoge.

    In this paper we analyze Luisa Carnes’ short stories. Carnés took up exile due to the Spanish Civil War. The separation from her home leads to the apparition of several topics in her short stories written in Mexico that are, on the one hand, a continuation of the topics initiated in Spain from a different perspective, and, on the other hand, the acceptation of the prototypical topics from the host culture. In this way, exile will mark the writer’s identity, which is divided between the memory of her home and the adaptation to the country that took her in.
