  • Resumen
    • By stressing the link between the lexico- grammatical structureof thetext andits prosodic arrangement, the authors promote an integrated approach to teaching the learners of English a prosodic organization of texts of different stylistic value. Their approach is based on the assumptions that, firstly, the pragmatic loading of the text, being based on its lexical and grammatical structure, is expressed in oral speechprimarilybyintonationmeans. Secondly, any text gets a certain degree of its prosodic cohesion due to the interplay of the logical and emotional elements in the speaker’s consciousness based on the human brain functions to processes the grammatical and lexico-semantic structures of a text as well as evoke its corresponding prosodic organization. As a result of an undertaken auditory analysis the authors came up with a set of prosodic means and basic prosodic patterns that form the textual parameters of a text as well as help speakers express its pragmatic aim.
