The paper advances methodological stipulations of a new interdisciplinary psycho- energetic approach to phonetic studies. The self-development of phonetics is viewed in the paper from the ontogenesis and phylogenesis standpoints. From the ontogenesis perspective, phonetic self-development is usually realized within three main stages: descriptive, formalizing and integrating ones. In terms of phonetic phylogenesis, it can be subdivided into such stages: formation of descriptive phonetics within linguistic disciplines; its non-contradictory or contradictory formalized evolutionary development; and its integration into general scientific knowledge. Considering this, the author offers theoretical and methodological tools of a psycho-energetic research of oral speech that allows the researcher to implement all the existing scientific achievements of philosophy, psychology, physics, and mathematics into phonetic studies.
