    Los autores quieren llamar la atención sobre la aparición de las primeras alarmas en la respuesta dada por el movimiento cooperativo a los retos de la globalización. Para ello se centran en mostrar la dirección de dicha globalización y sus consecuencias para las cooperativas en particular, poniendo especial énfasis en el análisis de las primeras respuestas dadas por estas empresas y su adhesión o no a la ética y valores cooperativos tradicionales. Denuncian la falta de discusion al respecto y plantean un punto de partida para el desarrollo de los elementos esenciales de la necesaria estrategia de respuesta.

    The authors place special emphasis on the appearance of the first alarms in the response of the co-operative movement to the challenges of globalisation. Therefore, they focus on the direction of this globalisation and its consequences for co-operatives in particular, stressing the analysis of the first responses given by these associations and their adherence to the traditional co-operative values. They reveal the lack of debate in this respect and they propose a starting point for the development of the main elements of the necessary response strategy.
