  • This paper summarizes the main study results of an analysis of the hydrological response of a small forest catchment in the mid-mountain Pyrenees. The rainfall-runoff relationship emphasizes the influences on the moderate response processes: the high rainfall interception values (between 75 and 80%) and the characteristics of forest soils, which are highly developed, with high infiltration capacity and high organic matter content. The runoff generation capacity is reduced, except at certain times of year when water table conditions are more favorable: after cumulative rainfall during a long period, high values of base flow and groundwater levels rise
