Cádiz, España
This work is based on the geological analysis of a 1 km long cliffed coastal sector of Cadiz (SW Spain), near Conil de la Frontera village. The investigated area presents a high landscape and natural value and different human uses, essentially tourism. It is presently threatened by rock fall processes that have taken place during the last years and by active coastal erosion processes. The methods used include a geologic-geomorphologic approach, the structural mapping of the area, the application of the Bieniawski geomechanic rock classification and the study of the recent cliff evolution, by means of comparing aerial photographs taken in different years.
