Resumen de Manifestaciones respiratorias en niños con infección por Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana en Bucaramanga

  Introducción:(OGHORVLQIHFWDGRVSRUYLUXVGHLQPXQRGH¿FLHQFLDKXPDQR 9,+ HQHOPXQGRVRQQLxRV(O50% de los niños con infección por VIH presentan manifestaciones respiratorias las que ocasionan una gran morbilidad y mortalidad. Pueden ocurrir al inicio o durante la evolución. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo con 31 niños seguidos en un programa de VIH de la ciudad de Bucaramanga por 5 años, en el Centro de diagnóstico de Enfermedades Infecciosas de Bucaramanga de con el objetivo de describir el espectro de manifestaciones respiratorias. Resultados: El 54% fueron de sexo masculino, 60% menores de 2 años, 53% pertenecieron a estratos socioeconómicos bajos (1 y 2). El 72% presentó manifestaciones respiratorias altas (otitis, rinitis y sinusitis), el 69% manifestaciones bajas especialmente neumonía, y el 25% manifestaciones altas y bajas dadas, en su mayoría por síndrome rinusinubronquial. El 77% recibían terapia antiretroviral y, en el 25%, hubo necesidad de un segundo esquema por sospecha clínica de resistencia. La dislipidemias estuvo presente en el 25% de los pacientes que reciben terapia antiretroviral. Conclusiones: Las manifestaciones respiratorias en niños con VIH /SIDA de nuestro medio son similares a las reportadas en la literatura mundial.
