    Chile está escribiendo una nueva Constitución con el objeto de generar un pacto social y político que organice y distribuya el poder económico y político de una manera más justa, y que garantice los derechos de todas las personas y comunidades en igualdad de condiciones. El objetivo de este ensayo es ofrecer un análisis del derecho a una vivienda adecuada en el contexto del proceso constituyente en Chile, desde la perspectiva del derecho internacional de los derechos humanos y de la experiencia constitucional comparada. Los elementos y principios que recogemos de ambas experiencias tienen el potencial de guiar la discusión constitucional en el contexto del apartheid urbano que experimenta el país.

    Chile is drafting a new Constitution with the view of organising and distributing economic and political power in a fairer manner, and that guarantees the rights of all individuals and communities on an equal fashion. The aim of this essay is to offer an analysis of the right to adequate housing in the context of the constitutional process in Chile, from the perspective of international human rights law and comparative constitutional experiences. The elements and principles that we consider have the potential to guide the constitutional discussion in the context of the urban apartheid that the country is experiencing.
