Resumen de El castell formós de Balaguer: Un palau andalusí? darreres descobertes

  La recerca reiniciada al Castell Formós durant els darrers anys ha demostrat la importància de les grans reformes que es duen a terme al castell a mitjan segle XIV i ha fet replantejar la cronologia d’alguns espais, entre aquests la gran cambra i l’alberca. El registre arqueològic apunta que, si bé sí que sembla que l’organització espacial de l’interior del recinte del castell podria ser d’origen andalusí, al segle XIV es defi neix el que és avui per avui la planta del castell. Igualment, s’ha evidenciat l’ocupació del castell després de 1413, que sembla que adquiriria un funció militar, especialment durant els XVII i XVIII.

  The restarted excavations in recent years at the Castle Formós have shown the importance of the major reforms carried out in the mid 14th Century in the castle and have made us reconsider the timing of some areas such as that between the large room and the pool. The archaeological record suggests that the spatial organization inside the castle grounds could be of Andalusian origin, whereas that of the 14th Century defi nes the present fl oor of the castle. We have also found evidence that the castle was being used after 1413, this seems to be a military function, especially during the 17th and 18th Centuries
