Resumen de Los actores y la gobernanza en los proyectos de Agricultura Social en Cataluña. Una oportunidad de resiliencia en los espacios rurales y periurbanos

Antoni F. Tulla i Pujol, Ana Vera, Carles Guirado González, Natàlia Valldeperas

  • Social Farming (SF) is a multifunctional activity of resilience in rural and periurban spaces. SF promotes the insertion in society of groups at Risk of Social Exclusion (RSE) by various actors, using agricultural activity, its transformation and trading, and the natural environment. The aim is to analyse the characteristics of the stakeholders in the SF in Catalonia to typify the forms of governance of the projects, relating them to their economic, social and environmental viability. The methodology reviews the literature on SF, and resilience; the database created (2013-17) to know the sector; and the interviews to a selection of entities according to the type of people in RSE, the location and the typology of governance, which allows us to characterize the projects. The results obtained include the relationship between the type of governance, the main activity and the various groups involved. Most of these have a «mother» entity, private or public that has promoted or hosted them. The positive effects affect the stakeholders of the SF. The territory and the local community are the most benefited, followed by the users and their families, the technical teams, and the public administration. The clients of the entity, very aware, and the suppliers that have an orientation with ecological criteria are important. Finally, volunteers are basic in some cases.
