Countries have enacted Research & Development & Innovation Fiscal Incentive Provisions (R & D & I FIP) which enable the private sector to benefit directly from fiscal advantages in the form of financial subsidies or indirectly from fiscal advantages in the form of tax incentives. This work examines current issues concerning R & D & I State aid and Competition Law, in the context of the EC Treaty and the WTO regulations.
