Este trabajo realiza un análisis de la confrontación entre la libertad de expresión y la protección del honor en las Redes Sociales. El objetivo del artículo es ponderar estos derechos y determinar las colisiones típicas entre ambos derechos, así como los riesgos específicos que presentan las RRSS para el honor de los usuarios. Para ello, repasamos la regulación jurídica existente en España sobre esta materia, así como los intentos de autorregulación y los que propiamente establecen las mismas RRSS en sus condiciones de uso, para por último establecer los retos y desafíos de las Redes Sociales en relación con la protección del honor.

This work addresses an analysis of the confrontation between the freedom of expression and the protection of honor in the social media The aim of this paper is to balance these rights and set the typical confrontations between both rights, as well as the risks that the social media present for the honor of users. It is necessary to review the Spanish enacted regulation in this area, as well as the self-regulating attempts and the very same regulation attempts by the own social media in their terms of use, and the challenges and issues raised by the social media as far as the protection of honor is concerned.
