Resumen de Energías renovables y espacio rural: la bioenergía en Castilla y León

  El espacio rural de Castilla y León ha sido testigo, en las dos últimas décadas, de un amplio despliegue de instalaciones para la producción de energía eólica y solar fotovoltaica. Se ha puesto de manifiesto así la apertura de estos ámbitos a la innovación en el campo de las energías renovables, hasta el punto de que es la primera región de España en potencia instalada de origen eólico y la cuarta de origen fotovoltaico. Es la respuesta a las nuevas demandas sociales y a un decidido compromiso político que han convertido a la región castellanoleonesa en un referente estatal en la materia. De hecho, han sido las ramas más estudiadas desde distintas disciplinas, también desde la Geografía. Falta, sin embargo, una puesta al día de lo acontecido con la bioenergía, y más específicamente del papel que el sector agrario, en su dimensión agrícola (cultivos energéticos), forestal (biomasa forestal) y ganadero (biogás), está jugando en la solución de los problemas energéticos. Clarificar este aspecto en Castilla y León es el objetivo de la presente comunicación.

  Renewable energies and rural areas: bioenergy in Castilla y León The rural area of Castilla y León has witnessed in the last two decades of a wide deployment of facilities for the production of wind and solar photovoltaic power. So, it has been shown the opening of these areas to innovation in the field of renewable energies, to the point that it has become the first region in installed capacity of wind power and the fourth in that of photovoltaic origin in Spain. It is the response to the new social demands and to the strong political commitment that have made of this region the main reference on the subject. In fact, these renewable energies have been the most studied branches from different disciplines, also from Geography. Missing, however, an update of what happened with bioenergy and, more specifically, with the role that the agricultural sector is playing in the solution of energy problems, not only in the agricultural dimension (energy crops), but also in the aspects derived from the livestock raising (biogas) or those from the forestry growth (forestry biomass). Clarify these topics in Castilla y León is the aim of the present paper.
