    El futuro del sistema eléctrico, que exhorta perentoria mente a la consecución de la inapelabletransición energética, se articula en torno a cuatro vectores: Descarbonización, Descentralización, Digitalización y Democratización. Estos vectores de transformación obtienen su sustrato de las nuevas tecnologíasque invaden el sector. Las nuevas tecnologías romperán las premisas económicas y tecnológicas que configuraron el paradigma eléctrico en el siglo XX: la imposibilidad de almacenar la electricidad, el número limítado de centros de producción de electricidad y la dicotomía productor v. consumidor. Es el objeto de este artículo delinear las siete instituciones más relevantes del futuro sistema eléctrico con el propósito de obtener una visión de conjunto e interrelacionada del porvenir del sector. A través de esta panorámica se señalarán las limitaciones del sistema ante esta nueva realidad, particularmente la imprescindible mutación de la regulación española que abrirá la puerta a estas figuras y, junto con ellas, a la transición energética

    The future of the electricity system, which urgently calls for the achievement of the unavoidable energy transition, is driven by four vectors: Decarbonization, Decentralization, Digitalization and Democratization.

    These vectors of transformation derive their substrate from the new technologies that are invading the sector. The new technologies will break the economic and technological premises that shaped the electricity paradigm in the 20th century: the impossibility of electricity storage, the limited number of electricity production centers and the producer vs.

    consumer dichotomy. The purpose of this article is to outline the seven most relevant institutions of the future electricity system in order to obtain an overall and interrelated vision of the future of the sector.

    Through this overview, the limitations of the system in the face of this new reality will be pointed out, particularly the essential mutation of Spanish regulation that will open the door to these figures and, together with them, to the energy transition.
