La comarca cordobesa de Las Colonias y su poblamiento durante la protohistoria y la Antigüedad

    Presentamos un artículo sobre el poblamiento durante la Protohistoria y la Antigüedad en la comarca cordobesa denominada “Las Colonias” (Andalucía, España). Se trata de un territorio conformado por cinco núcleos de población relativamente modernos, que por este motivo, y al contrario de lo que sucede con otras zonas cordobesas de mayor antigüedad, no ha recibido suficiente atención en la investigación, llegándose incluso a pensar en numerosas ocasiones que la comarca apenas había estado poblada en las etapas protohistórica y antigua. Sin embargo, las investigaciones aisladas llevadas a cabo desde finales de la década de 1970 por algunos investigadores demuestran justamente lo contrario, que existió un intenso poblamiento en dichas etapas y que puede resultar de enorme interés para la investigación y para el debate científico. En este trabajo hacemos un balance sobre el estado actual del conocimiento de dicho poblamiento en Las Colonias y resaltamos la utilidad que puede tener su estudio para contribuir a comprender mejor la historia provincial y regional.

    We present an article about the settlement that existed during the Protohistory and the Antiquity in the region of Cordoba called “Las Colonias” (Andalusia, Spain). It is a territory made up of five relatively modern population centres, which for this reason, and contrary to what happens with other older areas in Cordoba, has not received enough attention in research;

    it even came to mind on numerous occasions that the region had hardly been populated in the protohistoric and ancient stages. However, the isolated investigations carried out since the late 1970s by some researchers show just the opposite, that there was an intense population at these stages and that may even be of enormous interest for research and scientific debate. In this paper we take stock of the current state of knowledge of this settlement in Las Colonias and highlight the interest that its study may have to contribute to better understand the provincial and regional history.
