Este trabajo es una puesta al día en el debate sobre la autoría de la Expostulatio Spongiae (1618), en especial la supuesta atribución a Juan de Fonseca y Figueroa, insostenible tanto por la extrema debilidad de las pruebas a favor como por las pistas que el autor fue esparciando por toda la Expostulatio. Una serie de datos personales que tendría muy difícil encaje, por no decir imposible, con el perfil biográfico de Fonseca

This article is an updated review of the debate on the authorship of the Expostulatio Spongiae (1618), especially the alleged attribution to Juan de Fonseca y Figueroa, unacceptable due to the extreme weakness of the hypothesis, as well as the clues that the author of the Expostulatio spread throughout the book. A series of personal data that would be very difficult, if not impossible, to coincide with Fonseca’s biography
