Resumen de Infraestructura de transporte y exportaciones en la frontera norte de México

  El objetivo del artículo es identificar la eficiencia de la infraestructura de transporte para facilitar las exportaciones en la frontera norte de México. La metodología utilizada se basó en el cálculo de varios indicadores de infraestructura y en el desarrollo de un modelo de datos panel, con el fin de analizar el impacto de la infraestructura de transporte en las exportaciones de la región. En los resultados se sugiere invertir en ferrocarriles para reducir los congestionamientos en los cruces fronterizos y mejorar las carreteras de acceso a los puertos. Además, se resalta la necesidad de aumentar el financiamiento en las aduanas para facilitar la verificación de la carga.

  The objective of this article is to identify the efficiency of transportation infrastructure for facilitating the exports on the northern border of Mexico. The methodology used was based on the calculation of several infrastructure indicators and the estimation of a panel data model to analyze the impact of transportation infrastructure on the exports of the region. The results suggest that investments in railroads and highways would reduce congestion at border crossings and improve access roads to border ports. In addition, the results highlight the need to finance more customs to facilitate cargo verification.
