Justice, as one of Cardinal Virtues, has been object of thinking by thinkers since Antiquity, when the bases of this concept were established. This virtue has important and theoretical antecedents, which contributed to the configuration of its visuality during Middle Ages. The attributes of Justice are the visual concretions of its features. The combination that this offer allows for the design of iconographic types established by the theoretical considerations that define Justice. For this reasons, we propose a diachronic study of Justice’s visuality since its origin until 14th century, deriving the meaning of its attributes from different written sources. Moreover, the combination of attributes allow us to propose a system of classification for the most frequent iconographic types of Justice that were based on the theoretical considerations of the concept.
